Welcome to the collegiate page of the Southern Independent Conference Officials Association. SICOA is a proud affiliate member of the NCAA and listed as an officials association with the NAIA. SICOA provides quality collegiate officials to both NCAA and NAIA institutions. In 2008, SICOA is proud to provide officials to the new Southeast Football Conference with schools currently in three southeastern states.

NEWS:

Congratulations to Aaron West. Aaron has been selected as a referee in the AIFA indoor league and

will be working in the Centennial Conference in 2008 as a back judge and referee. Aaron joins the

growing number of former SICOA officials that have moved on to other conferences including

Mark Kelsay (SEC & Gulf South), John Hoffman (MEAC), Troy Riley (ACC).

In order to be considered for membership, each applicant must have met or exceeded the following:

1.) A minimum of seven (7) documented years of varsity high school experience with at least two years

of playoff / championship experience.

2.) A letter of recommendation from a collegite official, either active or retired, that will attest to your officiating ability and experience.

3.) Completion and submission of a medical clearance form

4.) Attendance at the 2009 SICOA summer workshop, study sessions and meetings

5.) Participation in spring and fall collegiate scrimmages

6.) Satisfactory score on the 2009 CCA examination

7.) Affirmation from the board of directors of the collegiate group

Only Officials that have been sent an invitation may attend.

This completed form shall be mailed to John Walters, Supervisor of Officials. No fee is required.

Important Note : All new applicants submitting the registration form above will not automatically be approved �into SICOA membership. After submitting the SICOA registration form, new applicants must be subsequently approved for membership by the the SICOA Supervisor of Officials. This includes attendance at all SICOA training and workshop sessions, participation in collegiate scrimmages and a satisfactory grade on the CCA examination.
